The popularity of girls comics
I will talk about the popularity of comics for girls and women. These comics can be Classfied into some groups. Firstly , there are comics for adult women. These comics tend toward little extreme. For example the story of mother- in- law picking on her sons wife, or dreadful story with ghosts and monster, or intense sexual story. Next,, there are comics target on teens (junior high school students or high school students ) These comics carry the story of their life-sized love and friendship. Finally there are Comics for girls .This is the most lively of the comic magazine world . Most of readers of these comics are elementary school girls. “ Ribon”, “Nakayosi”, “Chao” are this group, published once a month. Story of first love or fantasy ( like a witch ) in these magazines. From here, many popular cartoons are produced. And they becameanimated cartoon. And these magazines have system to educate future cartoonist for girls who want to became cartoonist .They have their works corrected by professional cartoonist. While there are many group of amateur cartoonist. They publish their cartoons at their Own expense. In Japan, these popular comics change into variety of amusement. The comic favored by schoolchildren mainly become cartoon film. But not all popular comics are adopted to it, so developing cartoon film is the proof that this cartoon is really loved by everyone. Not to break image of that cartoon, a voice artists and theme song are carefully Selected. Once this cartoon film is seen on television, it becomes more and more famous. Not only children but their parents become to know it. And toy companys or sweet companys take notice of that cartoon film. Then they offer variety of toys doll, card game , computer game, stationary goods and so on.) Some times these cartoon films even become movies. To give some example, “ Chibimarukochan” by Momoko Sakura on air since 1990 became national popular animated cartoon. This is “Chibimarukochan”. I think the reason for this cartoon’s popularity is that people can have tender feeling whenever they see this cartoon. And “Sazaesan”(on air since 1969 ) also well-known cartoon in Japan . Not only animated cartoon, popular comics also became TV drama. Popular comics for young adult apt to become TV drama, rather than for girls. Or sometimes popular comics also become novels. As I have said , a lot of amusement come from cartoon.
